Four Super Eagles Share Seven Goals In A Big Week Abroad
Four Super Eagles found the net between Monday 19 and Sunday 25 October 2026, while ten of the 38 players called up never got a minute.
Na goals we dey talk about this week, make I show you who carry the eagle for club level. Four players from the squad that faced Russia 3-3 Nigeria on Tuesday 6 October 2026 and Guinea-Bissau 3-0 Nigeria on Tuesday 29 September 2026 scored for their clubs between Monday 19 October 2026 and Sunday 25 October 2026, seven goals between them. K. Iheanacho scored twice for Bursaspor in Turkey’s 1. Lig, once at home past Pendikspor and once away at Keçiörengücü. No one in the group logged more club minutes this week than Iheanacho, 159 across those two games. T. Arokodare scored twice for Ajax, in the Europa Conference League against Atalanta and in the Eredivisie away at Sparta Rotterdam, and set up the first of those goals too. G. Ilenikhena matched him, scoring twice for Al-Ittihad FC in Saudi Arabia’s Pro League, away at Al-Ettifaq and at home to Al Diriyah, with an assist in the away game. W. Ndidi got his name on the sheet once, for Beşiktaş in the Europa League against Crystal Palace, and picked up a yellow card in that same match. A. Lookman supplied the other assist, for Atlético Madrid in the Champions League away at VfB Stuttgart.
Plenty more did the full shift without troubling the scoresheet. C. Bassey played every minute as Fulham won away at Coventry, with A. Iwobi on for 74 of those minutes in the same game. S. Ajayi did 90 for Hull City in their draw with Brentford. R. Onyedika went the distance for Eintracht Frankfurt in a defeat at Borussia Dortmund, and M. Okoye for Udinese and A. Okonkwo for Charlton also played full matches on the losing side. B. Osayi-Samuel did 78 minutes for Birmingham away at Cardiff, and S. Onyemaechi did 74 for Olympiakos Piraeus in a Europa League win over Sparta Praha before sitting unused when Olympiakos beat Kalamata domestically.
Ten of the 38 players called up never got a minute this week. Three were kept as options off the bench without coming on, B. Fredrick at Brentford, O. Aina at Nottingham Forest and U. Abubakar at Famalicao. Seven more were left out of the matchday squad entirely, among them W. George Igor at Kristiansund BK, C. Nwoko at Fulham, S. Nwabali at Chippa United and K. Igboke at Enugu Rangers. S. Chukwueze is in that group too, kept out of both AC Milan matches this week with a hip injury. One player’s club, A. Bewene’s Baník Ostrava, simply did not play its fixture. And I no sabi where three more turned out this week, S. Michael, A. Adeoye and M. Atata. Our data feed just had no club match for them, so I no go invent one.
Next up for the Super Eagles themselves na Tanzania at home, Wednesday 11 November 2026, 18:00 Lagos time, in Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying. We go see soon enough if this week’s club form carry over to green and white.
