Matchday 6 Preview: Kano Pillars Hold the Clearest Shot at Three Points
Going into this matchday, Bros IQ runs down every NPFL matchday 6 fixture, from Sporting Lagos hosting the early pace-setters to a bottom side still chasing its first win.
My people, NPFL matchday 6 dey run from Saturday 26 September 2026 to Sunday 27 September 2026, and as of Thursday 24 September 2026 the table already dey show which side get their business sorted. Some clubs dey top with points to show, others still dey find rhythm. Here’s the full card, and where I dey lean before ball dey kick.
Sporting Lagos sit eleventh with six points from four games, two wins and two losses. Barau FC top the log with eleven points, unbeaten in five games, three wins and two draws, conceding only two goals all season. This one dey hard for the home side at Mobolaji Johnson Arena.
Abia Warriors sit fourteenth with five points from five games, one win, two draws and two losses. Bendel Insurance sit fourth with nine points from five games, three wins and two losses. That gap dey wide going into Umuahia Township Stadium.
Going into this matchday, Ikorodu City hold twelfth spot with five points from four games, one win, two draws and one loss. Enugu Rangers sit second with ten points, unbeaten through four games, three wins and a draw. Rangers travel with the better numbers.
Kano Pillars sit fifth with eight points, unbeaten in four games, two wins and two draws. Enyimba prop up the table at twentieth with zero points, no win in four games, all four ended in defeat. This is where I dey lean hardest this weekend.
Katsina United sit eighteenth with four points from four games, one win, one draw and two losses. Doma United sit third with ten points from five games, three wins, a draw and a loss. Doma carry the stronger form into this trip.
Kun Khalifat FC sit nineteenth with two points from four games, no win, two draws and two losses. Kwara United sit eighth with seven points from five games, two wins, a draw and two losses. Kwara should have enough here.
Nasarawa United sit sixteenth with four points from five games, one win, one draw and three losses. Niger Tornadoes sit thirteenth with five points from five games, one win, two draws and two losses. Neither side convinces me.
Plateau United sit sixth with eight points from five games, two wins, two draws and one loss. Inter Lagos sit seventeenth with four points from five games, one win, one draw and three losses. Plateau hold the edge at Rwang Pam Stadium.
Ranchers Bees sit tenth with six points from five games, two wins and three losses. Rivers United sit seventh with seven points from three games, two wins and a draw, conceding just one goal so far. Small sample, but Rivers dey move well.
Warri Wolves sit fifteenth with four points from four games, one win, one draw and two losses. Shooting Stars sit ninth with six points from three games, two wins and a loss. Shooting Stars carry the better form on the road.
My safest pick for matchday 6 na Kano Pillars to beat Enyimba. Pillars dey unbeaten in four, and Enyimba never win a single match this season. No dulling, I dey lean here with confidence.
The trap for me na Nasarawa United against Niger Tornadoes. Both sides dey inconsistent, and neither one show enough to trust blindly. Omo, this one fit go either way.
No prices for these games yet, odds only land close to kick-off, not days before. Whatever you stake, stake only what you fit lose. Kick-off for Kano Pillars against Enyimba dey Sani Abacha Stadium, Sunday 27 September 2026, by 16:00 Lagos time.
Settled after the matchday, 28 September 2026. Banker of the matchday, Kano Pillars to beat Enyimba: lost, final score Kano Pillars 0 - 0 Enyimba. Trap match, Nasarawa United vs Niger Tornadoes, called as open either way: final score Nasarawa United 1 - 0 Niger Tornadoes. The calls above are unchanged.
