Betway Nigeria is the local arm of Betway, run by Digi Bay Limited and licensed by the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA) under licence number LSLGA/OP/OSB/BW221017, with a separate national permit (0001075) and an NLRC casino permit (1371620), as the operator states on its own licensing page when we checked on 30 September 2026. In practice that covers sports betting, live betting, a casino, Aviator and other crash games, virtuals and Lucky Numbers, all reachable through the website or the Betway app.

Is Betway licensed to operate in Nigeria?

Betway’s own licence statement names Digi Bay Limited as the licensed entity and points to two regulators. The Lagos side is the one that matters if you’re betting from Lagos State: LSLGA regulates lotteries, sports betting, casinos and gaming machines carried out within the state, and an operator offering gaming services there has to hold an LSLGA licence of its own, a national permit alone is not enough. The national side is murkier. Betway’s statement also cites a permit from the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, but the Supreme Court of Nigeria nullified the National Lottery Act and the NLRC itself on 22 November 2024, in a judgment the Lagos regulator reported after it won all eleven reliefs it had sought against the federal government. So the Lagos licence is the one with a regulator still standing behind it.

What’s in the Betway Nigeria welcome offer?

Betway doesn’t put the welcome offer on a banner, it sits inside the sportsbook’s Terms and Conditions. New customers who deposit at least ₦500 and wager that deposit in full on a sports bet of five legs or more, at combined odds of 5.00 or higher, qualify for a match on that deposit up to ₦250,000 as a Free Bet, plus 10 Free Spins on Hot Hot Betway and 10 Free Flights on Aviator.

Make we talk straight about the fine print, because it decides whether the offer is worth claiming. The window to qualify is the first 30 days after you register. The Free Bet itself expires in 180 days if you don’t use it, has to be staked as one single bet, and the stake isn’t paid back even when you win, only the winnings land in your account. Betway states that the maximum return on any Free Bet is N 8 000 000, and if you withdraw before using it, whatever Free Bet balance you still have gets forfeited. You have to be 18 or older, and a Nigerian citizen or resident, to qualify at all.

How do you deposit and withdraw on Betway?

Betway lists nine ways to fund an account, Paystack Checkout, Flutterwave Checkout, bank transfer, Opay, Palmpay, Quickteller and Paga among them. Far fewer pay money back out: bank transfer, Opay, Palmpay and Paga, four methods in total. Betway states that withdrawals carry no charge, but it only pays out to a bank account held in your own name, or to an Opay, Palmpay or Paga account registered on the same mobile number as your Betway account. The operator doesn’t publish a general minimum deposit figure beyond the ₦500 that applies specifically to the welcome offer.

What can you actually play on Betway Nigeria?

The platform covers nine products according to our data feed: sports betting and live betting sit alongside Betway Casino, a live casino, Aviator and other crash-style games, virtual betting, Lucky Numbers and the Betway app. Sport is the part this site cares about, and it’s also the part the welcome offer is built around, since the qualifying bet has to be a multi-leg sports wager, not a casino spin.

Staying safe and in control

Nigerian law puts the legal age for betting at 18, and LSLGA has said plainly that underage players who misstate their age can have winnings forfeited and face prosecution.
