How Gist9ja checks a betting site
Before an operator appears on Gist9ja, three things are checked, and each check carries the date it was made. None of this is a rating. We have not opened accounts, deposited or timed a withdrawal, and no page on this site says we have.
The licence, read on the register
An operator is listed only when the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority's register carries it with a licence period that is running today. A brand missing from the register, or whose period has not started, is not listed, whatever its adverts say. The reading is repeated, and every operator page shows the registered company, the licence period and the date of our last check.
The offer, copied from the operator's own page
A welcome offer is printed only after we have read it on the operator's own site, in the operator's own words, with the date we read it. We do not take a figure from another comparison site or from an advert. When we have not read it, the field stays empty and says so: an empty field tells you exactly how much checking has been done.
The link, tested every morning
A link marked as sponsored exists only when the licence is confirmed, a partnership has been accepted, the link is tracked, it lands on the operator's real site rather than a mirror, and we hold dated facts about that operator in Nigeria. The redirect is tested every morning. If one condition fails, the button disappears and the operator stays listed on the same terms as the others.
What we have not done
No field test has been run: no account, no deposit, no withdrawal timed, no call to customer support. There is therefore no score out of ten anywhere on the site. If that changes, the test will be dated and signed, and this page will say how it was run.
Who answers for it
Bertrand Vercamer, publishing director of LLAO LLAO LTD, answers for every check on this page. Corrections are welcome at contact@gist9ja.ng.
Corrections log
When a published article is corrected, the correction is recorded here with its date, not in the article itself.

- Betway Nigeria: Licence, Welcome Offer, Deposits and Withdrawals: the guide said, in its own words and in the market facts box, that Betway appears on the Lagos State register. That sentence came from our description of the register, read in September, while the licence box on the same page, checked on 26 October 2026, said the licence was not confirmed. The guide no longer states the register's content for Betway itself: it points to the licence box, which carries our latest check and its date.

- 1xBet Promo Code Nigeria: What the Welcome Offer Actually Says: the guide said the facts we hold did not show 1xBet's company on the Lagos State register. They did: the register spells it « Beauforbet Nigeria Limited » where the operator's site writes « BEAUFORTBET », and lists it with a licence from 6 August 2026 to 5 August 2027. The sentence now says so. The withdrawal section said no method, minimum or timing was known; the methods and timings 1xBet publishes are now on the same page, and the section points to them.

- 8 Super Eagles Internationals Missed Out For Their Clubs This Week: two winning scores were written home side first, so the winner read as the loser (« Trabzonspor won 2-4 away at KuPS », « Beşiktaş won 2-3 away at 1899 Hoffenheim »); they now read from the winner's side (« won 4-2 », « won 3-2 »). Nothing else changed.

- In eight picks, the year a club was founded sat in the middle of a form paragraph (« Shooting Stars, for the record books, were founded in 1950 »). It said nothing about the match; it was removed, and the figures are unchanged.
- In 28 picks, the missing bookmaker price was said up to four times on the same page (in the text, in the data line, in a note and on the pick card). It is now said once, on the pick card; the sentences in the text and the data line were removed. Five headlines were written from the side of the team Bros IQ did not pick; they now name the picked team first: « High-Flying Doma United Welcome Kun Khalifat FC To Pantami », « Struggling Inter Lagos Look To Hold Off Nasarawa United At Home », « Struggling Kun Khalifat FC Look To Stand Firm Against Shooting Stars », « Nasarawa United Aim To Make Lafia Where Doma United's Form Hits A Wall », « In-Form Enugu Rangers Visit Warri Wolves At Warri Township Stadium ». The calls themselves are unchanged.
- In 26 picks and previews, the « Form and table » picture inside the article showed the table position before kick-off without saying so, under a match band that is read again after every matchday. Its title now reads « Form and table before kick-off »; nothing else in the picture has changed.
- In the articles below, a table position was written in the present tense (« sit 11th of 20 ») above a match band that is read again after every matchday, so the two disagreed once the round was played. The sentence now ties the position to the match (« 11th of 20 going into this game »); every figure is unchanged. The headline of « Barau FC Aim To Stop In-Form Enugu Rangers At Home », « Shooting Stars Land in Aba With Enyimba Winless », « Struggling Enyimba Host In-Form Plateau United In Aba », « Nasarawa United Sense An Opening Against Struggling Inter Lagos », « Shooting Stars Target First Away Win At Struggling Kun Khalifat FC » no longer carries a table position (it read « Barau FC Aim To Stop League Leaders Enugu Rangers At Home », « Shooting Stars Land in Aba With Enyimba Rock Bottom », « Bottom Club Enyimba Host In-Form Plateau United In Aba », « Nasarawa United Sense An Opening As Inter Lagos Sit Bottom Of The NPFL Table », « Shooting Stars Target First Away Win At Bottom Side Kun Khalifat FC »).

- In the verdicts below, the result was told as money (« Na straight cash this one », « money dey safe », « collect your money well well », « cash out clean »). A verdict says whether the pick landed, not what it paid; the sentence was reworded or removed, and results and prices are unchanged.

- In the articles below, a single result was written as a run (« 1 win in a row », « one loss in a row »). One match is not a run: the sentence now gives the most recent result, and the figures are unchanged. In the Bendel Insurance vs Ikorodu City verdict, the closing line announcing the next slate was removed: a verdict ends on the result.

- A second pass on 9 October. Bros IQ writes pidgin in whole sentences: in the articles below, a one-word interjection standing on its own (« Omo. », « Wahala. ») or stuck in front of a sentence in standard English was removed, and nothing else changed. In the Russia vs Nigeria article, « this season » was removed from a run of matches that spans more than one season.

- How to Check a Betting Site's Lagos Licence Before You Register: The title said « Top Betting Sites in Nigeria » while the guide names no site and ranks nothing; it now says what the guide does, which is show how to check a Lagos licence.
